You're a startup founder in the US, and everything is great. BUT THEN: Trump is elected. What do you do??? You move your startup to Berlin (Germany)! This pitch tells you why that's the right move – but in a fun way. I did this pitch recently at a conference called “Valley in Berlin” to welcome our mostly American speakers to Berlin. The conference is organized twice a year by YouIsNow (www.youisnow.com), a startup accelerator in the real estate industry. If you want to know more about me check out www.pitchdoctor.com, or contact me on LinkedIn: https://de.linkedin.com/in/sollich Also, I do the occasional twittering on the Twitter: https://twitter.com/bombesollich
At SXSW 2018, 10 cities took part in a pitch-off: Which city is the best to do a startup in? I was asked to represent Berlin, and I did. And just like Berlin is "a little different", this pitch is "a little different". People really liked it, somebody even called it "the funniest pitch at SXSW". But see for yourself, and let me know what you think...
[Join our pitch competition and reply with a pitch for your own city: www.startupcitypitch.com!] At 4YFN startup conference in Barcelona (Feb 2016), 10 cities pitched in front of a startup audience, trying to answer the question: Which European city should you found your startup in? I was asked to pitch Berlin, and being born and raised in the beautiful city, I did my best to REPRESENT it in style. This is the result. The pitch was uploaded as "Best Berlin Pitch ever!!!" (https://youtu.be/BG1RBMaPGb0), and proved quite successful, but unfortunately the video quality was very poor. 240p shot with an iPhone 6S. (Yes, I don't get it either!) But we found better footage for you to enjoy, and here it is. If you want to get in touch because you like it, love it, or hate it (really, I'm from...

(26 Jul 2016) A man shot dead a doctor on Tuesday before killing himself at a Berlin hospital, German officials said. The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. (1100 GMT) at the mouth, jaw and face surgery unit of the Benjamin-Franklin Hospital in the city's southwestern district of Steglitz. Berlin police initially said the doctor had suffered life-threatening injuries, but later said he had died. The circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated. Police said there was no indication of a "terrorist background" to the attack. A series of attacks over the past days, including the shooting deaths of nine people and a gunman in Munich on Friday, have prompted officials to call for stricter gun laws in Germany. No copyright infringement intended Doctor Who belongs to BBC The song belongs to Snow Patrol WARNING: quick changing scenes that could possibly cause headaches ABOUT THE VIDEO: It's just an annoying little thing about River and the Doctor's lives (the happy parts) in order (for her) from Berlin to Trenzalore. And it was kind of a personal challenge for me to do something WITHOUT any voice overs - and I failed miserably because I had no really sense of where to go with each scene and I'm never doing it again. THE NEGATIVE: Hmmm, what do I think of this video? Absolutely nothing at all. It was a half formed idea that I just didn't/couldn't execute well and now my head hurts (when you watch the video you'll understand). Welcome to Berlin, the capital city of Germany. The first documentation of Berlin appears in the 13th century, and it has a long history of importance—it’s been the capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg and the Kingdom of Prussia, among others. The lengthy history encompassing the city often manifests in its eclectic collection of architecture, which you should certainly include on your Berlin tour. From the towering classical lines of Charlottenburg Palace, built for the Hohenzollern family in the 17th century, to the sleek mirrored sides of the Bahn Tower, you’re bound to find plenty to look at in the city’s downtown area. Fancy a real German lager? Stop by Prater Garten for a brew—built in 1837, it’s one of the handful of buildings that has survived both World Wars. You can sit ou...

My Berlin travel guide includes 28 secrets, things to do and best places to visit which I carefully selected for this Christmas adventure in Germany. You won't believe number #23 which is a must-see attraction. The first thing you have to remember about Berlin is that it has 2 main city centers in West and East Berlin, primarily the cause of the aftermath of World War 2. I took my family to Berlin - Germany for Christmas to visit its amazing Christmas markets and local events. Berlin is definitely a gem of city but it has its flaws, it could have been the time of the year, Christmas shopping, new year's stress, we basically had a very bad experience with the local service, primarily at restaurants, they seemed to not give a damn about hospitality. Service was overall very sloppy, unpolit...
We spend a full day exploring the city of Berlin. We start off taking a walk through Tiergarten, a huge park in the centre of the city. We make our way to Brandenburg Gate, The Reichstag (Parliament) Building, and Holocaust Memorial (The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe). After that we figure out how to use the U-Bahn (train) to make our way back to the Ellington Hotel, where we’re staying. After that we make our way to East Berlin to check out the East Side Gallery, which is what remains of the Berlin Wall. At the end of our day we head to Markthalle Neun to try some currywurst. Travel video about destination Berlin in Germany. Berlin is Germany's modern capital city, a fascinating European metropolis with a dramatic history in which contemporary architecture merges with the imposing character of a centuries-old city. The Nokolai Quarter was built by the DDR government as a sort of old town, a European Disneyland for the city's 750th anniversary, a popular area with 'new' medieval buildings that display various guilds and stone statues that surround the city's oldest church. We travel to nearby Potsdam, a city of castles and gardens and with an old town that features a lively market atmosphere. When the monarchy settled there, so did their armies and with them came craftsmen, merchants and artists from many countries. The castle-like Nauener Tor leads to the Rus...
